Student Council Mini-Grant Program
"Done In A Day" Projects
This year Student Council will make available mini-grants to students and/or student groups who want to undertake a "Done In A Day" project to benefit our school community. A mini-grant can be up to 800RMB and depending on the nature of the project to be undertaken and at the discretion of the student council, additional time for completion and grants may be considered.
The Student Council will allocate 2,400 RMB each term to fund these mini-grants, and projects requesting smaller amounts will be given priority. Applicants should avoid asking for funds that could be found through other sources or that require a continuing commitment of funds beyond the original proposal. Mini-grant applicants should document any other current or pending source(s) approached for funding the project.
"Done In A Day" projects are hands-on, one day projects that are both diverse, rewarding and visibly beneficial to the school. Whether it is providing a Christmas party for a K class, or developing a project to coincide with an Area of Interaction, we encourage all student groups across the school to "put on their thinking caps" and start brainstorming project ideas.
Grant Proposals Guidelines:
Existing group or individual initiatives that have already attempted fundraising on their own will be given priority (For example, fundraising in and/or out of school, using own money, etc)
The actions taken with the aid of the granted money should benefit the school, students, or school environment in some way.
No loose ends or variables should be present. The specifics of the proposal need to be set. (e.g. dates, number of people involved, transportation if there is traveling, etc.)
A specific amount of money needs to be requested, No cost ranges, guesses, or asking for "as much as Student Council will give"
Mini-grants must be applied directly to project budget line items and not used to raise funds for a project.
The presentation should be no longer than 5 minutes, concise, and clear. (PowerPoint presentations and hard copies of the proposal are suggested.)
